FRAMED TEXTILES
Aboriginal
……trying to find indigenous textile art is easier said than done………however as the company is called Textiles of the World, and based in Australia I feel that it is important to include aboriginal textile art in the collection…….look at what I have found so far….
African Textiles
I have included textiles from Africa, especially some of the Kuba monochromatic geometric textiles, and idigo batik which will look great in contemporary homes.
Australian Contemporary
All of the fabric in this collection are hand screen printed fabric, designed by young contemporary designers many of whom are Australian.
Handpainted Batik
This is contemporary hand printed silk batik from Malaysia. The collection at present is printed in lengths so the individual sizes are available.
Japanese Kimono Silk
This wall art is created from Japanese silk, including meisen, shibori and vintage silk kimono fabric; all the pieces are one off pieces.
Mounted Tribal Textiles
This collection consists of a number of tribal pieces including beaded, embroidered and appliqué which are framed to show off the beautiful detail. These are one off pieces from southern China.
All the frames for the famed textiles are kin-dired, eco select, hardwood stretcher bars with a 32mm depth. These stretcher bars lengths go from 10 inches to 84 inches, in 2 inch increments, so there can be considerable variations in size and design.
All of the Framed Textiles are ready to hang.
Please contact me on jann@textileoftheworld.com.au or call on 0428 885 334 to discuss creating an individual piece.
